Nungua, Jan. 11, GNA - The Chiefs and elders of Nungua on Sunday, pledged their support for efforts to help solve the environmental and sanitation problems facing the area.

King Odaifio III, Nungua Mantse, said accelerating the development of the area was dear to the hearts of the traditional leaders and everything possible would be done to ensure that this was achieved within the shortest possible time.

He was speaking at a New Year party organised for the aged at his palace at Nungua.

King Odaifio, therefore, called on the citizens of the town to rally behind the traditional leaders to ensure rapid socio-economic development of the town.

He asked the citizens to eschew chieftaincy disputes and work in unity for the attainment of the common goal to move the area forward. King Odaifio pledged to use his reign to seek the welfare of the aged as well as find ways to recognise their contributions towards the development of the area.

Sam Nii Bolabi Prempeh, Acting Mankralo of Nungua, called for peace in the area to speed up growth and improve the living standards of the citizens.
