Ashanti Goldfields Bibiani Limited honours nine workers

Bibiani (W/R), Jan 7, GNA- The Ashanti Goldfields Bibiani Limited (AGBL) on Monday honoured nine of its workers for their services to the company last year.

Each of the beneficiaries received one million cedis and a certificate of merit.

Mr Amo Mensah, acting Managing Director of the company, said the company faced a lot of challenges last year and called for greater output from all the workers in the years ahead to increase production. Mr Thomas Nyarko Danquah, Manager in-charge of Administration, denied allegations by some of the miners that the company had not purified the mine site and this resulted in an accident in one of the deepest pits.

He said all customary rites were performed with the consent of the traditional authorities of the area.
