Unilever Ghana Limited's premium brand OMO continues to distinct itself through its proven abilities to remove tough stains through relevant consumer engagements with the Launch of OMO Funstastic 5.
Omo Funtastic 5 is an inter-schools 5-Aside soccer competition for children in upper primary. The first season, will see 54 schools from 4 prominent cities – Accra, Tema, Takoradi and Kumasi – apply and compete for the ultimate prize of an all-expense paid trip for the winning team to Brazil in June 2014.
In an address, Ms. Racheal Florench Apoh Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection commended the organisers and sponsors for the initiative.
She said, the Ministry is committed to the holistic development of the child toward nation building and therefore challenged Unilever to ensure the project is expanded to cover the entire country.
The Category Manager of Home Care Unilever West Africa, Ms Sylvia Acquah stressed on the need for parents to allow children to explore their surroundings, in order for them to experience life and develop.
“Experiential learning plays a key part in child development and OMO is committed to promote their development by offering a reliable solution,” she stated.
This is to underscore the relevance of Omo's commitment to campaign for the right of children to explore through outdoor play; and most importantly its commitment to providing a trusting and reliable solution for mothers to manage the dirt associated with this all important aspect of childhood.
The official Launch was done by the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Joseph Yammin.
