The names of Eric Amoateng, an ex NPP MP for the Nkoranza North constituency and Solomon Adelaquaye, the Managing Director of SOHIN Security, have been the premise upon which members of the two major political parties in Ghana have in recent times, reopened old wounds and accused each other of benefitting directly from the nefarious act of the above-named individuals.
Solomon Adelaquaye was arrested in May for trafficking a substance believed to be heroin whilst Eric Amoateng was arrested for trafficking 136 pounds of heroin, valued at over $5 million in the USA.
But speaking on Joy FM's Newsfile show, the deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Kofi Adams, made it clear that it was uncomplimentary for functionaries in the New Patriotic Party to allege that Solomon Adelaquaye was a financier of the governing party.
He remarked that it was absolutely 'reckless' on the part of members of the NPP to label Solomon Adelaquaye as financier for equalization reasons.
Mr. Adams singled out Maxwell Kofi Jumah for propagating the reckless message when in fact he has no proof to show that the man in question is a financier of the party.
'Amoateng and Solomon are not the same. Indeed you can't attempt to equalize the situation', he warned.
According to Mr. Adams, members in the NPP can be held liable for failing to report the despicable acts of Mr. Adelaquaye if they indeed knew about his immoral deals. He argues that in our criminal jurisdiction, if someone is aware of a crime and refuses to report it, he can be held for abetment of that crime.

Kofi Adams give us a break. Your boss Mr. Rawlings should be the one to face the music if you really believe what you said, you see what goes around comes around.
