Nzema East NDC On Fire: Minister Kofi Buah & Others Stand Accused--Group Alleges
The branch Executives of Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is angry at some perceived opportunistic persons whose deeds is known to create a deep crack in the party's quest to retain the MEC of the area.
These they mentioned as Awulea Attibrukusu III, Paramount Chief of Lower Axim Traditional Area and his cohorts such as Hon Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for Ellembelle and Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. George Agya Yankey, CEO Ghana Gas Company as key elements who are using their positions to destabilize the unity and progress that the party has chalked after the 2012 polls.
According to them, they are not happy with moves by these individuals to use all means to lobby the President to appoint an alien who did not contribute to the welfare and successes of the party or voted to in the last elections as Municipal Chief Executive.
They argued that these persons who do not matter in the affairs of the party's affairs especially the Omanhene of Lower Axim and his allies cannot thwart the direction of the party by bringing someone who bears an American citizenship and not willing to denounce his American nationality to be made the MCE against their wish.
Awulea Attibrukusu III and his 'selfish' cronies were advised by the executives to refrain from using all means to promote Mr. Isaac Ete Amihere who has been flown into the country with the promise that he would be made the MCE by Hon Buah and his confidants.
In a statement issued and jointly signed by the Constituency Secretary Anthony Atsu and Wonderful F. Bonzie, the Constituency Youth Organizer respectively on Tuesday afternoon warned these persons to desist from causing harm to the party in the area but must allow the executives to choose a candidate of their choice.
In the statement, they recalled that the Executives in their earlier Petition dated 13TH March, 2013, copied to the President and all offices that matters in the governance system of the Party which was jointly signed by the Constituency Chairman Musa Djoloto, Vice Chairman Senzah Ezah, Secretary Anthony Atsu, and Youth Organizer Wonderful F. Bonzie called on the President to maintain Hon Rev James Ackah Cobbinah.
They lamented that whilst every Municipality or Constituency is yearning for rapid development, there is a reverse story in Evalue Ajomoro Gwira (Nzema East) constituency where some individuals due to their selfish interest are adopting all forms of divisional tactics to ensure that the party loses the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira seat in 2016.
The executives cited 2011 defeated parliamentary candidate during the party's primaries, Mr. Isaac Ete Amihere as a possible threat to the party's progress when he is given the nod, since his presence would breed divisions, adding that he has already resorted to forming a group that its members are going round to confuse the party folks during the recent constituency branch elections urging them not to adhere to any Constituency Executives calling.
'These same groups of people started a similar feat before the constituency primaries which saw Hon Tankyi Kweku Kessie as victor and subsequently did the same to frustrate and thwart the chance of Hon Tankyi Kweku Kessie being elected as MP' the statement stressed.
We therefore urge all to note that the Constituency Executives and the Municipal Chief Executive are putting up all effort to develop the constituency and sustain the gains so far achieved.
'Therefore we wish to assure all ensandry to ignore all negative ideas been perpetrated by the said Mr. Isaac Ete Amihere group since all their actions is towards their selfish interest'.
Below are excerpts of the statement: where it starts by warning those opportunists to refrain from threading on hypocritical lines thus; stopped the idea of a photo album of branch delegates to be used during the parliamentary primaries in 2011.
That Series of press conferences and planned demonstration against the MCE in 2011 and 2012 after the parliamentary primaries must cease.
1. The Isaac Ete Amihere's group campaigned against Hon Tankyi Kweku Kessie along the Axim environs hence the dismal performance of the party in the Axim environs. They asked voters to vote for any parliamentary candidate of their choice, this led to series of complains received from the voters.
2. These people and their sponsors like Mr. Isaac Ete Amihere, Mr/Mrs kwagyah popularly known as 'Kwass' has not send a congratulation to the Member of Parliament Hon Kweku Tankyi Kessie.
