The entire Dunkwa Township was thrown into a state of gladness jubilation when Chinese expatriates shot and killed two men believed to be the most wanted notorious armed robbers terrorizing the town over the years.

The 26 year-old-Prince Amoako has been described as the most wanted criminal in Dunkwa who was at large for some period of time but resurfaced only to issue threats to the Dunkwa Police who have been pursuing him.

Prince Amoako was on Friday, 31st May 2013 shot in the chest by the Chinese when he (Prince Amoako) raided a rented uncompleted apartment where the Chinese are residing and put a pump action gun on the Chinese head commanding him to bring out his monies.

The noise being made in the course of the operation drew the attention of other Chinese sleeping in the other rooms who tiptoed to see what was happening. Prince Amoako in turning to look round to see what was happening outside, lost focus and was rather taken unaware by his hostage who shot him in the chest killing him in the process.

A search conducted in his residence after the incident, the police found several laptop bags believed to belong to Chinese miners in the community. It was also established that Prince Amoako had stolen ten different laptops from Chinese expatriates working in Dunkwa.

The death of Prince Amoako came to Dunkwa residents who saw it as a respite to the whole community and its surrounding towns, considering the way and manner Prince Amoako terrorized them.

He was feared by everybody in Dunkwa because of the way and manner he carried himself, not expressing any sense of fear and respect to the police.

This according to residence created an atmosphere of fear and panic within the community since he has been seen on several occasions shooting indiscriminately in the streets of Dunkwa with a 12 round pump action gun he stole from an Italian.

Speaking to Crime Officer at the Dunkwa Central Police CID, Love Mensah, she revealed that Prince Amoako has been on their wanted list but the police was unable to track him down.

He indicated that Prince Amoako went into hiding after his own Uncle somewhere last year, brought some Military officers to the town to effect his arrest when he (Prince) issued a death threat on his Nephew.

According to Crime Officer Mensah, Prince Amoako resurfaced and threatened to kill the police if they continue to pursue him.

The Crime Officer also said, the notorious armed robber on many occasions shot indiscriminately in the streets of Dunkwa on a motorbike with bullet pack round his waste.

'On one occasions, as we pursue him, the bullet pack round his waste fell off and we found ten bullets in the belt,' he said.

He has also revealed that the body of the armed robber has been rejected by its family members who said they have nothing to do with him and that they are ready to give the remains to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for burial.

According to Prince Amoako's brother (name withheld) his brother's conduct had been a headache to the whole family causing serious trauma to their mother who had to relocate from Dunkwa to Tema. He however congratulated the police and the Chinese for doing the family and the whole community the honour of bringing down his brother who was nothing short of a 'beast'.

Also, an accomplice to Prince Amoako, popularly known as Kakra has also been gun down by Chinese expatriate at their mining concession site in Dunkwa.

The inter-ministerial task force on illegal mining set up by the President is believed to have opened doors to armed robbers who are taking advantage of the absence of Chinese miners on their concessions to rob. But luck eluded Kakra when he went to one of the concessions to carry out his usual operations when he was gun down by a Chinese expatriate.

The two bodies have been deposited at the Dunkwa District Hospital, but families of the two have abandoned them saying they are not in the least acquainted with any armed robber, or anybody who brought disgrace and total uneasiness to a whole community.
