The Geological Survey Department says preliminary checks at the site of an earth tremor in the Eastern Region shows there was no destruction to property.

The Department has been assessing the impact of a 4.2 magnitude tremor which struck Odogblase in the Eastern Region yesterday.

Director at the Geological Survey Department, John Adjei Duodu told Joy News: “[Our officials] have combined a very wide area, taking interviews from people all over the place…they have been examining physical structures and no one has complained.”

Nevertheless, he said the Department was not expecting any major damages due to the magnitude of the tremor; “so we are very fortunate” he said.
