The Tampulma Youth Association is a tribal association that seeks to ensure the security and promote the interest of the Tampulma community in Ghana.
Tampulmas are found everywhere in Ghana with specific geographical locations in the West and North Gonja Districts, East and West Mamprusi Districts, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District in the Northern Region, Sisala East District in the Upper West Region, Ejura and Afram plains in the Southern of parts of Ghana.
It is founded to help in various capacities to promote the overall social, religious, economic, political, tribal as well as all matters deemed to be threatening the welfare, freedoms, and rights of all Tampulmas in Ghana.
The association has a constitution that spells out its goals, aims and objectives. It is imperative to state that the association is not a pressure group but sought to work for the collective interest of Tampulmas in Ghana. As a tribal association, the association will not and shall not compromise any acts of violence perpetrated by its members against any tribal group and shall use diplomatic channels available if any violence brought against the community nationwide in the best interest of peace and tranquility.
The Youth Association is further aware of the rule of law and national security and shall cooperate at all times especially on matters that seek to put the community into disarray.
It is however, the conviction of the Youth Association to extend a bond of friendship to the close allies of the Tampulma ethnic group; Sisalas, Vagla, Mo (Dega), and the Chakali ethnic groups in Ghana. The reasons are that these people groups share a common ancestry, lexical structure, phonology and vocabulary. All these people with common ancestry are often described as the Western Gur cluster of Languages in Ghana.
