Asiedu Nketia is the real General of Ghana's electoral laws – Ato Dadzie
A member of the National Democratic Congress' (NDC)legal team, Nana Ato Dadzie has hailed the party's General Secretary for putting up "an exceptional performance" in court Thursday.
He said Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who took his turn in the witness box in the ongoing Presidential Election Petition before the Supreme Court acquitted himself well and proved that he is well experienced in the electoral processes.
The NDC scribe who is the witness for both first and third respondents on day 21 of hearing gave his evidence in chief in court.
Asiedu Nketia touted his credentials as having participated in Ghana's election since 1978 challenged the petitioners claim of irregularities which marred the elections.
General Mosquito as he is popularly called said the entire electoral process was a collaborative effort between the EC and the parties involved and thus claims of irregularities by the petitioners is a figment of their imagination.
Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Nana Ato Dadzie said 'General Mosquito's' composure and the way he answered questions showed he had total control of the subject matter which makes him a competent and credible witness.
"He [Mosquito] has vindicated the electoral process and proven that the EC worked hand in hand with all political parties prior to the elections".
Ato Dadzie said General Mosquito has put his best foot forward by causing serious damage to the petitioners case in court.
He explained that the NDC scribe has adequately explained the true meaning of over voting, outlined the duties and responsibilities of polling agents and the fact that there were no protests at the polling station gave away the petitioners' claim of irregularity.
The NDC lawyer said General Mosquito has distinguished himself as the real General of Ghana's electoral laws.
"One thing he [Mosquito] has done to the credit of our own democracy is that he appears to be educating not only those of us around him or in court but the entire Ghanaians about the process."
Nana Ato Dadzie said General Mosquito unlike Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has distinguished himself as a guru when it comes to electoral laws.
