Lawyers for petitioners contesting the outcome of the 2012 presidential election results will today reexamine their star witness Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia until Tuesday May 21, was still being cross examined by National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata.
Mr. Tsikata however ended his cross examination subject to the submission of an audit report into the number of pink sheets tendered in evidence by the petitioners.
But Gloria Akufo, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) legal team said “the Court will have to satisfy itself that it is necessary, based on the report that it receives from KPMG,, that Dr. Bawumia be recalled for purposes of cross-examination.”
Spokesperson for the NDC legal team Victor Kojoga Adawudu told Joy News their star witness, the party's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is ready to mount the box.
“We are just waiting on the heels of them (NPP) finishing their re-examination (of Dr Bawumia)”, he said.
