In its ongoing crusade to expose corruption in the operations at the National Youth Employment Programme, now Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency, GYEEDA, Joy News has uncovered yet another mind boggling, potentially corrupt activity involving the Better Ghana Management Limited which is owned by Joseph Siaw Agyapong, owner of Zoomlion and Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies.

Joy News' Manasseh Azuri Awuni investigated how the company is making over 10 million cedis every month and breaking with impunity the terms of a contract it signed with GYEEDA.

In a bid to end the delay in payment of allowances to the beneficiaries GYEEDA signed a contract in November 2011 with Better Ghana Management Limited for the company to pay the beneficiaries and be reimbursed later by government.

The company was also expected to take the beneficiaries under it modules through a training programme.

However investigations have shown that the company hardly pays the beneficiaries on time and rather depends on government to pay the beneficiaries, in violation of the contract it signed with government.

The company, having failed to train the beneficiaries cannot also account for the five cedis provident funds it deducts per month from the over 69,000 beneficiaries.

Joy News can confirm that more than GH¢ 130 million has so far been paid to Better Ghana Management Ltd since this contract started. If GYEEDA was paying its beneficiaries directly, this amount could have paid all the beneficiaries, their provident Fund and with a surplus.
