STOP CIRCULATING THIS PREJUDICIAL AND VAIN PROPAGANDA ABOUT PRESIDENT MAHAMA- NPP
Good day Ghanaians, TEIN-NDC KNUST has become aware of a litany of vain propaganda that the NPP through some of their Regional and Constituency Executives in the Ashanti Region are engaging in against the Humble President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, in their desperate attempts to lure Ghanaians into their party. The NPP through some of their Executives are going round telling people in the Ashanti Region that, President John Dramani Mahama is going to resign soon for Nana Akuffo Addo to be sworn in as the President of Ghana so, they should come for NPP party cards. These NPP Executives are speculating that since Nana Akuffo Addo is going to be sworn in as President of Ghana, the only way they can benefit under his presidency, is for them to be registered card bearing members of the Party.
As TEIN-NDC KNUST Executives, we started receiving reports from some of our members that their parents are compelling them to come and register for the cards early. As a Research Team of our great party NDC and concern citizens of Ghana, we took it upon ourselves to investigate this matter to ascertain the truth in it. Indeed, these reports from our members were confirmed by an official advert by the NPP ran on Sunday, 21st April 2013 on Ash FM, a pro-NPP Radio station at Amakom in Kumasi. For the purposes of Reliability and Accuracy, we went to the premises of Ash FM and indeed, the registration and issuing of NPP party cards exercise was ongoing at the ground floor of the story building at an outrageous price of TEN GHANA CEDIS. In order for us to know the reasons for this exercise at this juncture when all attention in Ghana has been directed to the Supreme Court for the 2012 Election petition hearing, we presented ourselves as members of the NPP from KNUST.
The officers in charge of the exercise told us the party is undertaking this exercise because in the Ashanti Region, everyone claims to be a member of the NPP and the surest way of identifying them is through party cards. And on the timing too, they told us that, the party needs money to augment its financial capacity to support the ongoing Supreme Court election petition hearing. Finally, on the fallacy about President Mahama, they confirmed that it is very true that he is going resign soon before the Supreme Court rules on the matter. 'That is the secret news from our National Executives, so register', they said.
The concerns and questions TEIN-NDC, KNUST is raising are as follows;
1. Why should a political party like NPP be going round spreading falsehood about the sitting President of Ghana that he is going to resign for their own obvious reasons and diabolic intentions of raising money to finance their activities through party I.D. cards?
2. Why should a political party challenging the election results which has the probability of bringing them to power devotes some of it's time to issuing of party cards?
3. So, NPP have you ceased been the paragon of legalities in Ghana? Stop circulating untruths, fallacy, vain, diabolic and prejudicial about President Mahama, and stop passing prejudicial comments about a case before the Supreme Court, which is the highest court of the land?
4. Why should a party which cries of economic hardship be issuing a party card at an outrageous price of TEN GHANA CEDIS?
5. Why will only card bearing NPP members benefit UNDER Akuffo Addo's presidency ?
As peace loving and law-abiding citizens of Ghana, we would like to use this medium to appeal to the rank and file of the NPP to call their Executives in the Ashanti Region to order, and for them to stop speculating falsehood about President Mahama. We are also using this opportunity to appeal to National Peace Council and other Civil Society Organizations in Ghana to add their voices to this call on the NPP party.
We want to make it clear that, we cannot stop the NPP from issuing their party cards, but our problem is that, they should not use President Mahama's name in vain for their selfish and parochial interests. We all saw the rate of vandalism, atrocities, brutalities and heavy casualties that were inflicted on some NDC Supporters and Journalists by some NPP HOOLIGANS when their General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and their 2012 campaign manager, Boakye Agyarko announced that the NPP party had won the 2012 elections so they should go to church on Sunday with white cloth to thank God, which was not true. So, we do not want any similar occurrences when the Supreme Court passes the verdict on the ongoing election petition hearing.
TEIN-NDC, KNUST would also like to put on record and state unequivocally that, President John Dramani Mahama is the only legitimate and the duly elected President of Ghana who has been given a four year mandate to steer the affairs of this great Country of ours. It is not true that he is going to resign and there is even no basis for that. We are committed to the Supreme Court case and the President has stated clearly that, he will accept the verdict from it.
TEIN-NDC, KNUST would like to assure all Ghanaians that, President Mahama is not resigning, the BETTER GHANA AGENDA continuation is on course, issues about the SSSS pay policy is under control and the Security Agencies are all at work, so there is no cause for alarm. We thank you very much for your attention, God bless you all.
