Guwahati, May 20 : Security forces apprehended six rebels of Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) in Assam's Goalapara district on Monday, police said.
According to report, following a tip-off, police had launched operation at Rongjuli area in the district along Assam-Meghalaya border and apprehended the militants.
'The militants were nabbed, when they had been trying to abduct a businessman from the area,' a top police official said.
Security forces recovered seven pistols, two hand grenades, ammunition in possession of them.
GNLA militants are active in the bordering area and involved in abduction, extortions.
