I Hate Tsatsu Tsikata–Kweku Baako Confesses
The suspicion of many Ghanaians that Abdul Malik Kweku Baako's effusions concerning Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata is borne out of sheer hatred has been confirmed.
Kweku Baako let the cat out of the bag himself, adding that the cross-examination class of Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata is a rusty legal practice.
The Editor-in-chief of the 'New Crusading Guide' is widely known to be vocal when it comes to issues concerning Former President Jerry John Rawlings. For years, President Rawlings became the 'celebrated enemy' to Kweku Baako; he therefore becomes energized anytime Rawlings' name is mentioned. This hatred seems to be receding in recent times for obvious reasons; the former President has not been talking much in recent times!
The silence of the Former President has starved Kweku Baako off the oxygen he needs to be in his elements, ranting and attacking anything Rawlings. As a result, Kweku Baako, has had to look for a new prey and this he has found in Lawyer Tsikata.
Commenting on Joy FM's news analysis programme, News file, Kweku Baako descended heavily on Tsatsu Tsikata and the entire legal team of President Mahama and the NDC.
Reacting to the introduction of the infamous Jake Obetsebi- Lamptey letter in court by Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, he accused the NDC legal team of hypocrisy.
Tsatsu Tsikata, counsel for the NDC caused a stir in court when he introduce a letter written on 9th December 2012 by the Chairman of the NPP to the Chairman of the Electoral Commission.
It was the intention of Tsikata to get Dr. Bawumiah to confirm to the court that the issue of duplicate serial number on pink sheets did not feature in the meeting between the NPP and the EC before the declaration of the election results on December 9th 2012.
Again, the introduction of the letter was to reinforce the allegation of bad faith against the NPP.
But Abdul Malik Kweku Baako defended the NPP that all the accusations made after the 2012 elections and before filling the petition were purely political and should not have popped up in court.
'It was just a sign of somebody who is rusty in legal practice' he says of Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata. He continued 'it was a sign of inadequacy'. 'Our friends in the NDC before going to court in 2005 had made so many allegations of rigging but when they finally went to court, those allegations did not form part of their issue in court? This is selective amnesia. This hypocrisy is what is worrying me' Kweku Baako lamented.
He said 'it was all part of the delay tactics. It was just pushed in order for somebody to cross-examine on it'.
It is important to note that Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has previously justified his hatred for Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata on Peace FM's Kokrokoo morning show.
In apparent response to a 'Daily Post' publication, Mr. Baako confessed that his hatred for Lawyer Tsikata is borne out of political and ideological beliefs.
All that Lawyer Tsikata had done to incur the wrath of Kweku Baako was to have supported the ideals of former President Rawlings. 'He was my friend' Mr. Baako confirmed.
He however revealed that he parted ways with Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata following his support for the revolution that took place on June 4th 1979 and 31stDecember 1981 which gave birth to the NDC.
Ironically, he recounted how Tsatsu Tsikata could have sued his firm but opted to close the case after he (Kweku Baako) rendered an apology to him. This act of magnanimity should have resulted in the 'New Crusading Guide' Editor being measured in his talk in matters concerning Tsatsu Tsikata. However, that does not seem to be the case. Instead is the self-confessed hatred which many conclude is down to only one thing: ingratitude!
