Dakola, (Burkina Faso), May 20, GNA - Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru , Upper East Regional Minister has blamed Ghanaians particularly workers for the poorly manner they manage time.
The Regional Minister made the remarks in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after he had witnessed the inauguration of the African Development (ADB) Water Project at Dakola in Burkina Faso.
He expressed his admiration for the manner at which the Burkina Faso Government officials and traditional rulers were punctual at the occasion.
'I did not only admire their punctuality but the brief manner in which speakers upon speakers delivered their speeches. Each of them did not exceed more than three minutes. This is marvellous and Ghanaians particularly workers must take a cue from it,' he said.
Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru said with the introduction of the Single Spine Salary Structure what is expected of Ghanaian workers is to work hard by being punctual and regular to work and programmes.
This, he said, would lead to increase in productivity and would therefore empower government to pay enhanced salaries.
The ADB water project which has a sanitation component is mechanised and powered through solar energy.
The project was estimated at 134,553, 405 CFA of which the Government of Burkina Faso is to bear 20 per cent of the cost.
The water facility is aimed at boosting the efforts of the country to realise the Millennium Development Goals.
