Ashtown shooting in Kumasi: Two men, one woman arrested

Joynews has learnt that three persons - two men and one woman- have been picked up by the Ghana Police in connection with the recent shootings in Ashtown, a suburb of Kumasi.

Two persons were shot and killed by unknown assailants last week in what police suspect to be reprisals in connection with some violence which occurred in the Manhyia South Constituency during the 2012 electioneering campaign.

Erastus Asare Donkoh speaking on the Midday News said sources have confirmed that one was arrested in Accra and the other two in Kumasi.

It included one woman who is reportedly the girlfriend of one of the suspects.

Residents have welcomed the news and have expressed the hope that progress will contine.
