Suddenly Tsatsu Tsikata Becomes NPP’s Fodder

Truth must be told: The NPP have been bleeding badly from the hands of Mr Tsatsu Tsikata, lead counsel of the NDC in the on-going Supreme Court challenge of the 2012 Presidential Election results. Tsatsu has methodically, calmly and consistently torn into shreds most of the pink sheets that Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Co sent to court as hard core evidence.

The NPP leadership and their so-called pocket lawyers have been feeling the pinch very badly and have been looking for an escape route or scapegoat, to divert attention from the havoc Tsatsu is causing to Bawumia.

To the NPP, it was therefore heaven sent when Mr Tsikata in the heat of the cross-examination asked Philip Addison, lead counsel for Bawumia to shut up in order for him to continue with his cross-examination. This was due to the series of interruptions by Addison to prevent Tsatsu from getting the right answers from Bawumia who continues to be evasive.

That was the statement the NPP has been looking for all along. And they got it! And to them it was timely. Suddenly, their political hirelings are all over radio and television condemning the statement using various approaches.

The NPP diversionary tactics is back to full swing. It's like the political campaign season has begun. The NPP is everywhere and Tsatsu is on the mouth of everybody. The NPP is seeking to divert the attention of the public from the severe bleeding that Bawumia went through at the hands of Mr Tsikata where he was forced to repeatedly admit to multiple mistakes in his evidence gathering. Bawumia admissions to mistakes will make every judge cringe in his/her seat.

It is as if nothing else happened at the Supreme Court on Monday apart from that sentence from Tsatsu Tsikata. The NPP is all over blabbing, forgetting that they will return to court for Tsatsu for further deal with Bawumia.

The NPP Communication Directorate has suddenly come alive and its members have suddenly become reporters who spew untruths about the proceedings from the Supreme Court. You can see that if you read the terrible statements they have been issuing.

The communication directorate has realized that the reportage from even their keen and staunchest newspapers are not enough to save them from the explosive embarrassment, which is why the directorate has also throw in its hat to slang the proceedings to NPP's favour.

Gradually most Ghanaians who have tuned in to the proceedings at the court are reading behind the lines, and they are getting a feel as to who is telling the truth and who is beating about the bush with evasive answers. Only time will tell!
