About 4,000 direct and 15,000 indirect jobs are expected to be created through legal sports betting within the next three years by Safaribet to tackle the menace of the unemployment situation in the country, the Africa Gaming and Entertainment limited, a subsidiary of Safasribet has disclosed.

The company, within just six months of existence, with four branches at Osu, Darkuman, Tudu and Pigfarm has employed 140 youth in the betting industry, the Chief executive of Africa Gaming and Entertainment limited, Mr. Halit Karabashoglu added.

During the launch of the company's internet betting on Sunday at La Palm Beach Hotel, he indicated that the main aim of the company is to open branches across the country and create opportunity for sport loving fans to bet through their established shops, franchise outlets, terminal franchise shops and online betting.

He said their vision is to make betting accessible to all players across the country, and committed to fast tracking payment.

'Also, we want to partner with small businesses for franchising in order for them to grow and also employ other. This is a rare opportunity for already existing businesses to attach them to safaribet to improve upon their fortunes,' he stated.

Also at the launch was the Minister of Interior, Mr. Kwesi Ahwoi, who congratulated the company's initiative to assist the country in addressing unemployment situation among the youth.

He noted that Ghanaians with interest in sport will not only enjoy watching their favorite teams but would also get rewards as they bet, 'Ghana's first internet based sport bookmaker means people can watch and enjoy these games, while also predicting the result of the games on an online platform, and getting financial rewards in return.'

Mr. Ahwoi also charged the telecommunication company to beef-up their services since the game is solely going to rely on the internet, 'our communication service provider, however, still has a lot to do and the National Communication Authority is up to the responsibility and is demanding the highest standards and service quality from them.
