State Of The Nation

State Of The Nation
03.04.2013 LISTEN

I have been forced to overlook a great deal by reasons unknown even to myself but the appeal with which it has struck me this time isn't to be ignored. Back at home for a reprieve, I was confronted by a very disturbing and disgusting situation; desilting of gutters. It's quite ridiculous; the process.

'Patriotic Ghanaians' who hate filth so much that they cant stand to see choked gutters in all it's glory get themselves geared up and hit the gutters with extreme gusto. They clearly desilt it with such passion that they almost scrub it as clean as new. Kudos to them! But, but, but, after desilting the gutters, they pack the debris just beside it(the gutter) whether expecting other people to collect the debris and fulfill their part in the grand scheme of helping as individuals in the greater and better Ghana agenda remains unknown to us.

But whatever the case, the debris gets rejected and or ignored and after a few days, they cake up and drift ever-lovingly back into the gutters until such a time that the whole process gets to be repeated! By this, what are we doing to ourselves and to our dear country. Some of us are even worse than the desiltors, we are even more corrupt morally than it seems possible.

We acknowledge that the government is corrupt and not helping the cause of the country as it should but we are likewise a part of the government and are corrupt in our own small ways and or dealings! What hope then remains for mother Ghana? How do we get up in the morning by GOD'S grace, thank Him and go to hurt His memory, name and grace so much.

Let's all resolve to not be like the gutter desiltors; halfway done jobs are better left unstarted because if they are; aside exposing our stupidity and conscientious ignorance, the best way of describing it is cos90 times 0 and by that, we are left with just one truth; we have wasted our time, energy and deceived ourselves. Resolve to be a better person from today. May God help us all. Long live Ghana and long live us as Ghanaians. Peace!
