Ex-convict burnt to death at Tepa

Tepa, (Ash) Mar. 14 GNA - A 24-year-old ex-convict and resident of Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano north District of Ashanti, Atta Kwasi was on Tuesday found dead and burnt beyond recognition in a carpentry shop near the Tepa Anglican Primary School.

The charred body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Tepa government hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Police Chief Superintendent Kwaku Buah, Ahafo North Divisional Police Commander, briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Tepa said the owner of the carpentry shop informed the police about the gruesome act on Tuesday March 12, 2013.

He said the police sent personnel to the scene and on arrival they detected blood stains a few metres away from the carpentry shop.

Chief Superintendent Buah said no arrest had been made yet but investigation was on-going.
