Accra, March 13, GNA - Dr Omani Boamah, Minister of Communication on Tuesday expressed concerns about the fluctuating nature of telecommunication network in the country.

He requested MTN-Ghana to provide him with information on the disruption of their network last week which caused consumers a lot of harm.

Dr Boamah made the request when a delegation of MTN-Ghana called on him in Accra.

He said a Ghanaian consumer was looking for quality network services in communication sector which would improve their business and boost investments.

Dr Boamah also appealed to the security service to keep eye on thieves bent on stealing cables leading to the disruption communication services in the country.

Mr Michael Ikpoki, Chief Executive Officer of MTN-Ghana, said the call was to have the opportunity to share with the Minister some of the challenges the company was facing.

He said it was also to seek support from the Ministry to help curtail the issue of fiber cuts in the country which was a major challenge to the country's telecom industry and apologised to consumers on the disruption of the network in the last few days.

Mr Ikpoki also attributed the bad network service to the power outages the country was facing and that MTN had put in place measures to stop the current problems.
