The DCE, who was the reviewing officer of the parade mounted by the well-drilled cadet corps stated: "The high sense of discipline derived from your training will lead to the attainment of high academic standards as a disciplined mind makes a sound and responsible person."

Mr. Baffour-Awuah commended the headmaster and staff of the school for working hard to institute the cadet corps in the school and expressed the hope that such efforts would be sustained.

He appealed to the military to enlist some members of the cadet corps into the regular army on completion of school to sustain their interest in the profession.

The school has employed a permanent staff instructor to take charge of the corps to enable it to become a permanent feature in the school's activities, he said.

The cadets later entertained the spectators to military drills and displays to the admiration of a large number of spectators.

They were supported by the cadet corps of the Notre Dame Girls Senior Secondary School at Fiapre, near Sunyani.
