New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover has warned of difficult times ahead because “government has no solution to Ghana's sick economy”.

According to him, instead of solving the current challenges facing the country, the Mahama-led administration is rather explaining the problems.

Titus Glover was commenting on the NPP's True State of the Nation Address on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday.

The minority in Parliament in their version of the state of the nation blamed the NDC for mismanaging the economy which it says has inflicted unbearable hardships on Ghanaians.

The group which walked out of the House when President John Mahama was about to deliver his maiden address in Parliament said he [Mahama] failed to present the true state of the nation to the citizenry.

The minority described the Mahama administration as a spectacular failure.

Speaking on Ekosii Sen, Titus Glover attributed what he called unprecedented hardships in the country to government's profligate spending.

He said the NDC government which inherited a total public debt of GH¢9.5 billion at the beginning of 2009 has within 4 years escalated it to GH¢33.5 billion.

Titus Glover intimated that the Ghanaians are suffering from the repercussions of the unnecessary spending by government during the 2012 election in its quest to retain power.

The Tema East MP added that frightening development if not checked could send the country back to HIPC.

He was skeptical of government's ability to resuscitate the economy stating that “the NDC does not have the diagnosis for Ghana's sick economy”.

Titus Glover urged the government to quit praising itself for maintaining a single digit inflation and deal with the crisis in the country.
