Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Ben Acheampong has registered his intention to take the Angolan Premier League (Girabola) by storm.

The 22 year old scored one of two goals that aided his new team Atlético Petróleos Luanda to win a provincial cup last Sunday.

The former Wa All Stars goal poacher is set for aother trophy wining feat as Petro – who won the 2012 Angolan FA Cup – take on 2012 Girabola winners Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo in a champion of champions match.

Acheampong is aware of the magnitude of the match involving two of Angola's biggest football rivals and he is confident of his ability to help Petro Atletico win.

"I always want to prove a point because football is my profession," Acheampong said.

"Today's game is a very big one, a game that everyone is coming to watch. It is going to be a tough one because the two teams are both big teams and rivals too like Hearts and Kotoko so a win won't come easy.

"But I will go and do my best and I am confident Petro Atletico will beat Libolo to the cup."

Meanwhile, Acheampong is already making waves after scoring twice in three appearances for the 15 time Angolan league winners.

He hopes to finish the season as top scorer of the Girabola.

"It is my hope and desire to score in every game I play. I have already scored two goals out of three games and I hope to continue like this.

"It is my dream to end the season as the top scorer. I will be happy because that is what I am praying for."

The striker joined Atlético Petróleos Luanda on a two year renewable contract from defending Ghana league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko for an undisclosed fee.
