Central Regional GNA Manager laid to rest

Cape Coast, Feb. 11, GNA - The mortal remains of Ms Hilda Abban, Central Regional Manager of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), was on Saturday laid to rest at Asokyeano near Cape Coast.

She was 56 years old.
Madam Hilda Abban passed on Sunday December 9, 2012 in Cape Coast after a protracted illness.

A burial and memorial service was held for her at the Grace Temple of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) in Cape Coast which was attended by hundreds of mourners from across the country.

Hymns were sung and tributes read by her husband, children, family, Church. Through GNA's, through the service which was officiated by Reverend Reuben Obeng, ICGC Cape Coast area Superintendent Minister.

All the tributes described her as a loving, committed and generous person who always had the welfare of others at heart.

The late Hilda Abban was born on May 21, 1956 at Anomabo in the Central Region where she started her primary school and continued to the Armed Forces at Burma Camp in Accra.

She had her Secondary education at Accra Girls after which she was trained as a journalist at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

She was employed by the GNA in March 1979 as an Assistant reporter in Cape Coast and rose through the ranks to become a Senior Editor and Regional Manager. Until her health began to deteriorate in 2009.

She left behind a husband, two sons and a grand-daughter. GNA
