NDC Holland Commends Prez Mahama For Bold Step In Moving To The Flagstaff House

Diaspora (Netherlands) President John Mahama
FEB 11, 2013 LISTEN
President John Mahama

Members of the NDC Amsterdam Branch wishes to applaud H.E. John Dramani Mahama and his administration for the bold steps taken to move the seat of government from the Osu Castle.

The group said, Ghanaians should be happy to see a leadership that is not shy to embrace unity through change, because the NDC initial position on the matter was an approach taken by the former administration to dis-associate itself from the corruption of the then NPP administration that helped facilitate the loan to build the Presidential Offices for the Government of Ghana, putting an end to the politics of THEY DID THIS SO WE NOT GOING TO PART-TAKE IN IT syndrome which is entrenched in some NPP members.

We are all one people and should always be each other's keeper for we are GHANAIANS first and foremost.

Ghanaians should not be naïve into thinking there would NOT be challenges based on the move, because there WOULD be. Our intelligence agencies should look into the close proximity of International residences of countries that far advanced in technological eavesdropping , to keep a constant look out for espionage or clandestine activities that could undermine the security and stability of our beloved country Ghana.

NDC Amsterdam branch, calls on the NPP members both home and abroad to seize the cheap and petty politicking and politicizing of a move which was eminent due to the renovation and repairs works that the Osu Castle badly needs to restore a part of our heritage and political history as a people.

The Radio stations in Ghana are continuously dragging Ghanaian politics into the mud, with the cheap stuns they allow on their airwaves, trying to ridicule the move from the Osu Castle to the Flag-Staff House.

On the issue of renaming the seat of government from Flag-Staff House to Jubilee House or vice versa, the group made it clear that NPP should grow as a party and act maturely because every post –independence Ghanaian knows the site or location as Flag-Staff house, hence its once again befitting to maintain that name, but agreed if our leadership chooses to maintain the Jubilee House then so be it , though NPP members would think of it as a political score point for them because there would forever be blind to the achievements of better governance but previous governments that scored points not in the form of buildings.

We and the majority of Ghanaians have confidence in the Mahama Administration and its ability to deliver on its campaign promises. Ghana under the NDC Administration is a more peaceful country, and together we can harvest the fruits of true democracy.

The NDC Amsterdam Branch takes the opportunity to also thank all the Party executives home and abroad for their continuous support, and calls for more dialogue between branches to assist in the development of our beloved country Ghana.

Long live Ghana. EDEY BE K3K3 --- EY3 ZU EY3 ZA
