Tema, Nov. 10, GNA- The Methodist Church of Ghana on Sunday inducted the Right Reverend Samuel Nana Osei Tutu Achamfuo-Yeboah as the second bishop for its Tema Diocese at the Saint Paul Cathedral in Tema. Preaching the sermon at the induction service, the Most Reverend Dr Robert Aboagye-Mensah, Presiding Bishop of the Church, said good Christian administrative policies must go beyond the church to benefit the nation to bring liberation and empowerment to the people. This would inculcate the spirit of encouragement in the people because they know that God is always with them.

Fifty-five year-old Rt. Rev. Achamfuo-Yeboah has over ten years, served as the Director for Communications and Publications and for two years as the General Director for Administration at the Church headquarters.

Dr Aboagye-Mensah advised religious leaders to first seek the needs and interest of the people before themselves. "These days what we see is contrary to what the bible says, therefore shepherds seek their interest first".

He condemned religious leaders who for love of money or material gains distort the truth to satisfy their own interest, saying it is unbiblical and called for a stop to the practice. Since privilege goes with responsibilities, leaders must lead exemplary lives because they could be called upon at any time to perform duties in society, he said.

The Rt. Rev. Achamfuo-Yeboah assured the congregation that he would use his expertise to serve the church to the best of his ability.
