2.0) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROAD SAFETY INITIATIVE (RSI)

2.1. GHANCY'S CONCERN FOR ROAD SAFETY: Since its inception in 2008, GHANCY has concerned itself with road safety issues- mainly because we are aware and conscious that:
I. The lives, livelihoods, survival, well-being and human rights of young-people are seriously threatened through road traffic and pedestrian accidents( RTPAs)- as they themselves die, or get seriously injured and become disabled or maimed for the rest of their lives. Over 48% of all (RTPAs) involve children, according reports.
II. The care-givers of young-people ( parents, guardians, teachers etc) also die or get seriously injured, disabled and maimed for the rest of their lives, and so incapable of rendering their caring and welfare services to the children, who become indirect victims of RTPAs, and in most cases become Road Accident Child Orphans( RACOs)
