The leadership of the People's National Convention (PNC) has said it is unaware of the petition filed at the Supreme Court by its General Secretary, Bernard Mornah.
Bernard Mornah is seeking to have some portions of the CI 74 nullified by the Supreme Court because he believes they contravene the 1992 Constitution.
The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan told Citi FM the party is praying for Mr. Mornah in his endeavor although it was not informed about the move.
“I believe the party is not even aware that he has really gone to the Supreme Court to challenge it even though it is his right as a citizen of this land and we all pledge to uphold the sanctity of our constitution in this land.”
He however clarified that the court case is not being sponsored by the party and “it is not even known by the party so we can only say that we wish him well and if we go through with it, it is the country that will benefit.”
