NPP SHOULD WITHDRAW THE PETITION IT HAS PRESENTED TO THE SUPREME COURT
31.12.2012 LISTEN

NPP the biggest opposition party in Ghana has refused to concede defeat in the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections.

Even though they lost in 8 out of 10 regions including the swing regions,Greater Accra and Central, and had only 120 seats in parliament compared to 151 seats in parliament won by NDC, NPP still claim there were irregularities which could affect the outcome of the results in their favour.

NPP have therefore petition the Supreme Court to overturn the election results in their favour with an evidence they shared with the general public in a press conference organised in Accra immediately after filing their petition.

As a political analyst,I will like to advice the NPP to withdraw the petition from the Supreme Court to avoid humiliation because of the following reasons:

1.The evidence presented by Jake with lists of constituencies and the so called doctored results which are no where to be found in their evidence submitted to the supreme court.

2.The utterances of Sir John, expressing confidence in the electoral process and reassuring their supporters that the electoral process could not affect the results of the election.

3.The declaration of results by Sir John in favour of Nana Addo with specific percentage, but refusing to support their evidence to the supreme court with his claim.

4.The inconsistencies in figures presented to the public by Sir John, Nana Akomea and Jake.

5.Lack of 2000 red sheets which are the key evidence in this case.

6.NPP's exhibition of genuine confusion between verification and identification. Moreover, the confusion as to which is supreme, act of parliament [(CI) 74 (3 )] and the constitution, article 42.

7.Evidence presented by PNC published on Ghanaweb which is consistent with that of NDC and the EC.PNC could be a vital witness with legitimate results from all the 26,0000 polling stations

8.Using the president as first respondent to their petition, which contradicts with article 57 (5).

9.Using assumed figures (1.342m) as facts and making deductions from legitimate counted votes, indirectly disenfranchising citizens of Ghana of their rights to select their president. This is violation of article 42 of our constitution.

10.Praying the court to declare Akuffo Addo president based on the arbitrary figures.A task which is the sole responsibility of the EC.

A word to a wise is enough.
