Several thousands of New Patriotic Party members in the Ashanti Regional capital have successfully completed a march through the principal streets of Kumasi as part of efforts to drum home their disapproval of the results of the 2012 elections.

The march, dubbed “March for justice”, commenced from four separate locations namely, the Bantama roundabout, the Labour roundabout, the Santaase roundabout and the Berkwai roundabout.

The Party supporters are currently gathered at the Abis Park in Ashtown where leading members of the party are expected to deliver some speeches.

A petition, which was to be presented to the Electoral Commission, will be handed over at a later time due to the size of the crowd, Citi News can confirm.

Citi News' Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Betty Ohemaa Agyemang reported that several leading members of the NPP were present for the march including Party Chairman, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, Member of the party's communication team, Samuel Awuku and several party executives.

She notes however that Party Flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is not expected to make an appearance.
