NFED facilitators end 0rientation course

Winneba, Oct.29, GNA- About 40 facilitators of the Non-Formal Education Division of the Ministry of Education (MOE) have completed a 10-day orientation at Sir Charles Holiday resort centre at Winneba. Resource persons who took participants through various subjects during the course were, Mr.Atta Adjei, District Co-ordinater and Mr. G.S.D. Nkrumah, District-Income generating activities Officer, both of the NFED.

Closing the course on Tuesday, Captain Steve Kwamena Armah, (rtd) District Chief Executive for Awutu- Effutu-Senya reminded participants of the crucial role workers of the NFED should play towards the realisation of the objectives of which the organisation was established. He urged them to utilise the knowledge they had gained at course fruitfully when they go back to their respective stations.

Capt. Armah charged the facilitators to intensify their education on bush fires as the harmattan is around the corner in order to protect forest reserves in the area.

He expressed the hope that with the collaboration of the chiefs and other stakeholders, the problem of bushfires could be reduced to the barest minimum in the coming year.

He assured the district heads of NFED that the district assembly would co-operate with them to ensure smooth implementation of the programmes they initiated to eradicate the high rate of illiteracy among people in the district.

On their part, Mr. Adjei and Mr. Nkrumah pledged to work harder than before to bring smiles on the faces of the illiterate in the various communities within the district.
