Undue Delay Of Teachers' Payslips: Website Creation Is Crucial

I entered Ghana Education Service in 2010 as a teacher at Prestea SDA Basic School. The experience that I have encountered with respect to the undue delay of teachers payslip is unforgivable and a recipe for criminal activities against teachers.

As at now, November 28, 2012, our payslips for the months of September and October are still not available to the teachers in this district.

The situation is made worse when you go to the bank at the end of the month, and there is abnormal decrease in your salary, yet there is nothing to show where the problem is coming from?

In the month of October for example, I walked to the premises of Fiaseman Rural Bank , Prestea Branch and the salary given to me was GHC414. Being a graduate from the University of Cape Coast, it is abnomal.

But who can explain this? The Controller and Accountant General's Department came out to say no deductions whatsoever was done, but our payslips which serve as a singular proof is not available.

My singular action research is that, The Controller and Accountant General's Department must stop the nineteenth century bureaucracy, where everything has to transported from Accra to all the hook and cronies of the country.

To this effect, a modern WEBSITE FOR ALL SALARY WORKERS can be designed and created, so that with our STAFF ID and other documents, we can access the site individually to check the actual amount given to us, as well as any deductions.

This is an institutional and not a political problem and the Accountant General must not dodge technology because they are doing more HARM TO GHANAIAN TEACHERS than good.

I hope my request is a request for all teachers and workers of Ghana
