Accra, Oct. 20, GNA - About a dozen and a half deportees from Spain, suspected to be Ghanaians have refused to disembark from a plane that brought them to Accra on Monday.

The deportees had been in the plane on the tarmac since the special Spanish flight touched down at the Kotoka International Airport at noon, aviation officials told Reporters.

Ghanaian Immigration Officials have declined to give any details about the flight and the passengers, saying they could only do that upon getting "clearance from the authorities."

The Officials, however, said they were taking steps to resolve the impasse. Seven deportees flown back to Spain Accra, Oct. 20, GNA - Seven male deportees from Spain suspected to be Ghanaians who refused to disembark at the Kotoka International Airport from the Air Europa Spanish flight on which they arrived have been flown back to Spain.

This was after all efforts by Immigration officials to convince them to disembark had failed.

The deportees' refusal to disembark left the plane sitting on the tarmac for about five hours.

In an interview with journalists, Mr Coleman, Immigration Officer in charge at the Airport said in the event of the deportees refusing to disembark they had to be sent back from where they were deported to have them sorted out.
