The Vice-President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has opened the first ever Ghanaian-all-sector exhibition in London. Ghana has achived considereable success in ensuring a sound macro-economic environment to attract investors. This has been done by bringing down the rate of inflation and interest rate. He said the country has therefore experienced tremendious growth in its export endeavours especially, under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). GHANA EXPO 2003 is unique by way of exhibitions on Ghana. Most investment fairs on Ghana both inside and outside the country have dealt with specific sectors like Housing, Agro Transport among others. For the first time in the history of Ghanaian trade and investment, a trade fair is being held on the entire economy of the country. The exhibition will provide insight into the country’s trade ranging from Agro-Processing, Food & Drink, Textiles & Garments, Minerals & Extraction, Construction, Travel & Tourism, Financial Services, Automotive Industry, Transportation, Energy & Power etc. GHANA EXPO 2003 is unique by way of exhibitions on Ghana. Most investment fairs on Ghana both inside and outside the country have dealt with specific sectors like Housing, Agro Transport among others. For the first time in the history of Ghanaian trade and investment, a trade fair is being held on the entire economy of the country. He said the government is making sure that that a stable macro-economic environment that is committed to fiscal discipline and does not crowwd out the private sector is maintained. Over 500 Ghanaian small and medium scale companies are exhibiting their wares to show case the countries rich but untapped economic, investment as well as international trade potentials.
