President John Dramani Mahama will today Monday, October 08, 2012, swear in a Sole Commissioner to investigate the issue of judgment and settlement debts.
A statement signed by Presidential Spokesperson, John Abdulai Jinapor, said the appointment of the Sole Commissioner is one of the Critical Policy Actions promised by President Mahama in his Policy speech of September 04, 2012.
The Sole Commissioner will thoroughly examine the judgment debt and negotiated settlements conundrum and recommend for immediate implementation, legislative and systems remediation. The overall purpose is to refashion and systematise the procedures for negotiating, contracting, executing, monitoring and resolving disputes.
President Mahama will also swear in seven new Justices of the Court of Appeal.
