Schools Under Trees Projects contractors bare teeth; issue 3-day ultimatum

Contractors working on Schools Under Trees Projects have given the Education Ministry three days to pay them or face a massive demonstration.

The contractors claim their monies have not been paid as far back as June last year, despite clearance by the Controller and Accountant General.

Spokesperson for the group, Alhassan Abass Kamal accuses the government of not caring about the plight of local contractors and says they will picket at the Ministry if they do not receive a positive response by Monday.

Meanwhile, Education Minister, Lee Ocran has declined comment on the complaints except to say the aggrieved contractors should direct their complaints to the GETFund Secretariat.
