Security agencies urged to remain fair and neutral - Bishop Ellison
Kansaworodo (W/R), Sept. 21, GNA - The Founder and General Overseer of Holy Abundant Grace Ministry, Bishop Emmanuel Ellison, has called for the need for security agencies to remain neutral and unbiased in the discharge of the duties as the elections approaches.
He said the actions and inactions of the security agencies would go a long way to influence the outcome of the presidential and parliamentary polls and appeal to them to be fair and truthful.
Bishop Ellison made the call in a sermon to climax the 20th Anniversary of the Church at Kansaworodo, near Takoradi, on Friday.
Speaking on the theme: “The country needs peace in this year's elections for Development”, the General Overseer, entreated the entire citizenry to live in unity and harmony with each other.
Bishop Ellison, who is also the President of the Council of Christian Charismatic Churches of Ghana, said our Lord Jesus Christ preached peace and reconciliation between the Jews and gentiles and entreated all to follow the example for the progress of our society.
He appealed to the Electoral Commission to be transparent with the conduct of this year's elections so that the outcome of the polls would be acceptable to all stakeholders and admonished the supporters and sympathizers of the various political parties to desist from using intemperate language, but rather exhibit civility in their discourse to ensure successful elections.
The church has over five hundred thousand members with branches in Ghana, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire.
