Mr Simpi said this at the Classic African Orchestra concert on founder's day to mark the 103 birthday of Dr Kwame Nkrumah on Friday in Accra.

The event was on the theme: “Music; one of the golden keys to Ghana's socio-economic development”.

The concert which was organised for basic and Junior High pupils was to treat them to a live performance of folk tunes of Ghana, Reggae, neo-traditional music, and classic Africa genre that would among other things pay tribute to founding fathers of Orchestra music including Ghana's own Ephraim Amu.

Simpi said the concert would also expose the pupils to pure African genre and improve their knowledge base in music, as well as give them in-depth understanding of the achievements of Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

He said African music was where it was today because it had not been properly classified and the best way was to teach children from the critical age of development to impact on society.
