Two weeks ago, I narrated a story about my wealthy nephew, who was engaged in the fishing business in Cameroon. He came back home with a bizarre story.

I recounted that Kwame wanted to use money to woo a beautiful girl who was the daughter of a prominent minister of state in Cameroon.

He thought he could woo the girl with big money but was turned down so he resorted to voodoo which backfired and landed him in hospital in Doula, the port city of Cameroon.

He was discharged after three months in hospital and travelled to his Doula home where a female family member took care of him.

Three days after he was discharged, Kwame felt restless at midnight as he could not sleep. Moreover, he felt a sharp and excruciating pain around his injured leg. He could not endure the pain so tried to call his kinswoman in the adjoining room to bring the pain killer drug.

He could not do so because his jaw had been locked. Painful tears streamed down his face.

Suddenly, Kwame's room became brightly lit and then some force focused his eyes on the big dressing mirror on the wall in the bedroom.

To his astonishment, a big Holy Bible appeared and opened with sheer rapidity. Finally it came to a stop and Kwame saw that the writings were in the Ewe language and the passage was from 1 Chronicles 16: 21-22.

The English version reads, 'He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.' (KJV).

Kwame shook like a leaf but failed to say anything because of his condition.

Then an audible voice addressed him like a loving father in the Ewe language.

Kwame said the voice directed him to go to a certain church in the morning and confess his sins after embarking upon an evil journey to win the girl.

The voice told him that the girl ministered worship songs to the Almighty God.

'After the incident, I felt a powerful hand holding my injured leg and from the hand I experienced soothing oily warmth in my leg and then I slept till the next morning,' Kwame told me.

My nephew said in the morning, he narrated the happenings to his kinswoman who was astonished. The feeble Kwame dressed up and with the aid of a walking stick, got into a taxi and moved to that particular church.

My dear readers, I would not like to make you jittery, but Kwame abandoned his deviant ways and drew closer to his maker, the Almighty God.

Kwame told me that after that harrowing episode, he tried to understand some things and so he came back to Ghana and bought the Holy Bible written in Ewe language and he focused on chapters in Genesis and Exodus.

'Indeed, I had a lot of deep insight into the passages. It was heartwarming as I got in-depth knowledge of God's words.  I read a lot about Moses, the exodus hero, his exploits and his shortcomings. Kwame stressed.

Kwame told me something, which I reflected upon deeply.  He said when Moses was rescued from the water by Pharaoh's daughter; he had the opportunity to be schooled and therefore was taught the mysteries and the magic arts of Egypt which was not of God. Therefore after his escape from Pharaoh, God changed his knowledge focus and gave him the power to enable him (Moses) to be God's intimate servant.

I was not surprised to see many CDs in Kwame's room in the family house. He told me that the eventful midnight encounter with the minister daughter's in Cameroon forced him to learn a very great lesson.

In one corner of his room, I saw a very beautiful acoustic Spanish guitar which Kwame said he used to praise God at times. Kwame is now the David of the family.

I know this is exciting news but one of our old folks is doing every thing possible to disturb Kwame. He was angry that his grandson had ventured into the 'Yesu' canker.

He said Kwame had refused to give him Scotch Whiskey.

My dear readers, the truth is that my uncle was warned by doctors to stop drinking alcohol and smoking his prepared foul-smelling Cuban cigar.

Ouch! I almost forgot, this week I had the opportunity of meeting one of Africa's top musicians, South African   trumpeter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trumpet , flugelhornist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flugelhorn ,  cornetist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornet ,'  composer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Composer and  singer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Africa , Hugh Ramopolo Masekela. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singer

I used to describe Masekela as a legend but he said he is not a legend.  He is also the father of American television host,  Sal Masekela http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sal_Masekela . I would one day tell you, my readers about my encounter with Masekela when he was in exile in Bostwana.  He was with the famous Hedzoleh Soundz in Ghana at the time.

His single entitled; “Don't Go Lose It Baby” was a favorite of one of my uncles and whenever he got drunk, he would inform all the neighbors of Zion Street in Calabar, Nigeria that he was back from a fishing expedition.
