Kumasi, Sept 19, GNA - Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Augustine Gyening, Ashanti Regional Commander, has warned personnel of the service against political bias and partisanship.
They should be professional and even-handed in the enforcement of the law before, during and after the December polls, he said.
DCOP Gyening was interacting with officers and men of the Manhyia Police Division in Kumasi as part of his official tour of the region.
He had already visited Obuasi, Bekwai and Mampong.
This comes as preparations towards the upcoming general elections gathers momentum.
The Regional Commander said acts of professional misconduct would not be tolerated and that offenders would be made to face appropriate sanctions.
He said the elections would be a real test for the police and they could not afford any laxity.
They need to remain alert and work hard to assure the people of adequate security protection, he said.
