Nkoranza(B/A), Sept. 19, GNA – The Nkoranza South Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has organised a three-day capacity building workshop for about 80 headteachers from basic schools in the Municipality.
The workshop was aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of the headteachers in managing their schools and was sponsored by a USAID Educational Support Project known as Partnership for Accountable Governance in Education (PAGE).
It offered the participants an opportunity to understand the lessons in the Headteacher's Handbook designed by the GES.
Madam Phillipa Banson, Nkoranza South Municipal Director of Education, urged the participants to establish a cordial working relationship with their teachers to ensure team work and effective running of the schools.
She commended teachers in the area for their hard work and efforts, saying that commitment brought about the overall good results of 88.38% by schools in the municipality during this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
She said the Directorate presented 1,151 candidates and out of the number 1,019 candidates were successful with 58% of them obtaining between aggregate six and 10.
