Pressure group, Forum for Governance and Justice (FGJ) is to embark on a peaceful demonstration in support of the creation of additional 45 constituencies ahead of the December 7 general election.

The demonstration dubbed Green Revolution demo contradicts the Red revolution demo the Alliance for Accountable Governance is planning to embark on.

According to the convener of the FGJ, Dr. Clement Apaak the demonstration is to expose the “hypocrisy and double standards” of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its appendages.

He was speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Monday.

The NPP has opposed the creation of the 45 new constituencies saying it is ill-timed but the EC is resolute, insisting that it is its constitutional mandate.

Also, members of the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) has declared its intentions to hit the streets Tuesday, September 25th to protest against the EC's stance.

AFAG's Red Revolution demonstration is to put pressure on the EC to rescind its decision on creating new constituencies barely three months into an election.

But Dr.Apaak on Ekosii Sen called the bluff of AFAG stating that their position is borne out of ignorance.

He said that the EC is only fulfilling its constitutional mandate and thus the supposed Red Revolution demonstration by AFAG will be an exercise in futility.

Dr. Apaak said the Green Revolution is a counter demonstration to educate Ghanaians about the need for the new constituencies and to correct what he says is a misconception created by the NPP and its appendages that, it [new constituencies] could plunge the country into chaos.

The FGJ convener indicated that their demonstration will be held a day after the AFAG's demo to prevent any clash between the two groups.

Dr. Clement Apaak was certain that the Green Revolution demonstration will have much more impact than AFAG's Red Revolution.
