NDC Campaign Team confers with regional executives

Accra, Sept 14, GNA - The campaign team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Friday conferred with the party's regional executives in an effort to map out strategies to ensure victory in December 7th general elections.

The meeting, which was held behind closed doors was also to let them know the roles they could play in their various regions to ensure victory for the NDC.

Briefing the media before the meeting, Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, National Campaign Coordinator said victory for the party in 2012 was very crucial in order to consolidate the achievements of the party.

He said the party needed team work and the assistance of all especially those at the grassroots to give it a resounding victory it deserved.

He urged the regional executives to sell the party more to those at the grassroots.

He said the meeting was to offer the regional executives the opportunity to also come out with their own plans and modalities on how the party could achieve victory in the December polls.

Mr Afriyie-Ankrah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, said the campaign team was opened for discussions and suggestions in order to ensure victory for the NDC.

He said the party had a lot of experienced people and was ready to bring their experience on board to attain victory for the party.

Mr Afriyie-Ankrah lauded the cadres of the party for their loyalty to the party and urged them to continuously support the party and its activities.

He urged Ghanaians to trust President Mahama and give him the mandate to enable him to continue from where late President Mills left off.

Ms Hannah Tetteh, Communications Director, NDC Campaign Team, noted that the 2012 election was all about advancing the Better Ghana Agenda for the benefit of Ghanaians.

She said the party had been able to build 1,200 buildings for schools which used to be under school thereby giving hope to 300,000 pupils who now have a decent place to study.

Ms Tetteh, who is also the Minster of Trade and Industry, appealed to the regional executives to educate people in their various localities on the achievements of the party.

She said President Mahama was a young, affable and energetic man, who was ready to work for the betterment of all Ghanaians when given the nod.

Mr Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, Chairman, NDC Campaign Team, urged people to trust the members of the team as it was ready to work hard for the party's victory.

Mr Asiedu Nketiah, who is also the General Secretary of the party, said the campaign team would work at all time and urged all to come on board to achieve victory for the party in 2012.

Dr Edward Omane-Boamah, Deputy National Campaign Coordinator, said the party needed to win the 2012 presidential elections without having to go for a second round and urged all to support the campaign team.

He said the party had a good story to tell due to its numerous projects across the country and called on the regional executives to tout the achievement of the party.

Mr Charles Nkansah, Operations Coordinator, Volunteers for Mahama (VFM), which is an organisation dedicated to ensuring victory for President Mahama in the 2012 elections, entreated people to join them to ensure victory for the party.

He said the organization, which had over 4,000 members nationwide, would support President Mahama by distributing brochures on the achievement of the party, organise door-to-door campaigns, among other activities towards victory.
