For the second time, a 'mysterious' dove has ruffled a major event organized by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This time, in the middle of proceedings at the NDC's extraordinary delegates' congress organized on Thursday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to endorse the candidature of President John Mahama, a white dove suddenly decided to land on the shoulders of President Mahama.

A clearly rattled President Mahama almost jumped off his seat because he did not anticipate such a brazen intrusion of his personal space by the mischievous dove. His equally surprised bodyguard had to knock the bold dove off the shoulders of the president.

Even with that, the dove refused to leave, as it continued to strut up and down the dais right in front of the dignitaries including ex-President Jerry Rawlings, NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia and NDC Chairman Dr. Kwabena Adjei.

Eventually, President Mahama regained his composure as he listened attentively to the various speeches made at the delegates' congress which gave him the nod as the ruling party's flagbearer.

On August 10, 2012, when the funeral of the late President John Evans Atta Mills was being conducted, a mysterious white dove decided to perch on the car of the late president's widow, Ernestina Naadu Mills.

Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur made a hype of the incident when he spoke at the thanksgiving service of the ex-president, a day after, at a Methodist church in Cape Coast.

Mr. Amissah -Arthur gave it a mystical twist when he tried to connect the dove to the departed president.

He explained that the August 10 dove was first spotted by the United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

The narration by the vice president earned him the name 'Aburubuo' on some media networks.

Since then, several members of the NDC have ascribed divine interpretation to the appearance of the dove which they believed could have been sent or a reincarnation of the President Mills.

However, DAILY GUIDE gathered that the dove at the ex-president's funeral was part of about a hundred doves that were placed on the Independence Arch by security personnel attached to the funeral's organization.

When the foreign dignitaries who were present at the funeral began leaving the Independent Square where the funeral was held, the birds were released into the air but because they were weak, some of them were unable to take to the air.

It is unclear whether the dove that landed on President Mahama on Thursday was part of a gimmick similar to what pertained at President Mill's funeral.
