Three persons have officially been confirmed dead following the visit of President John Dramani Mahama to the Northern Region last Monday on his 'thank you tour'.

The deceased persons, who had since been buried according to Islamic customs, were identified as Sualisu Adam from Changli, Issahaku Yussif from Dagbandabufon and one Abdallah from Lamashegu, all within the Tamale metropolis.

Regional Executive of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in connivance with hospital authorities, were alleged to have tried concealing the death of the three individuals but were exposed after some nurses leaked the information to the press.

According to DAILY GUIDE's investigations, two of the three were pronounced dead on arrival at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, while the third victim died on admission late Thursday.

It would be recalled that several causalities were recorded as a result of the recklessness on the part of a number of party supporters who rode motorbikes along the principal streets of Tamale.

More than a dozen NDC supporters sustained multiple injuries in crashes and were admitted at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and other health facilities within the regional capital.

Abdallah, DAILY GUIDE gathered, was in critical condition after he and his colleagues crashed into a stationary vehicle in the heat of the president's arrival.

Sources revealed that scores of the riders, mostly using unregistered motorbikes, crashed with vehicles and other bikes while trying to showcase their dexterity.

Most of the accident victims, some of whom had been discharged, were reported to have consumed large volumes of alcohol- reasons for the rampant crashes that left many of them with severe injuries.

Reckless riding of motorbikes in the Tamale metropolis is characteristic of all the political parties' youth during the arrival of their leaders to the area.
