The Chief of Nungua, Nii Odai Fio has accused government of neglecting the Ga Traditional Council despite persistent calls for help to solve the many challenges confronting the Ga people.

Nii Odai Fio added that even during the Homowo festive season, the government does not participate in the festival let alone contribute to make the activities memorable and successful.

The Nungua Chief made these pronouncements when the opposition New Patriotic Party flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo called on him at his palace, Friday as part of his “Restore Hope Tour”.

Nii Odai Fio argued that, inasmuch as politics is about having good social intervention policies, one basic issue politicians should address is the provision of affordable food.

He argued that without food all the social policy interventions Akufo-Addo is bringing aboard will not be sustainable.

Akufo-Addo who was touring the Krowor Constituency asked for the support of the people of Nungua as the December polls draw near.

He said he had all the issues that Nii Odai Fio raised and that his government will work towards resolving when his wins power.
