Anyinasuso (Ash), Aug 24, GNA – Ghanaians have been urged to remain steadfast in their trust of God's abundant mercies of peace as the nation makes preparation towards the December polls.

The Most Reverend Peter Kwaku Atuahene, Catholic Bishop of Goaso, called on political parties therefore to be tolerant and ensure responsible conduct.

He said they should watch their pronouncements and avoid any temptation of religious and ethnic divisions.

Bishop Atuahene said they needed to put the unity and peace of the nation ahead of self-serving agenda and convenience.

He was saying the mass during a pastoral visit to Anyinasuso in the Ahafo-Ano North District.

More than 3,000 Catholics and non-Catholics gathered to celebrate the mass.

Bishop Atuahene called on the people to live in harmony and accept to be each other's keeper.

He also spoke of the need to show love and support for the poor, the suffering and the vulnerable. The youth must be disciplined, law abiding and God fearing.

Bishop Atuahene had earlier confirmed 120 converts into the Catholic faith.

Nana Boakye Ansah, the Krontihene, gave high marks to the church for its contribution to the promotion of education, health and sanitation, citing the establishment of schools, health facilities and provision of good drinking water.

He appealed to the church to post a priest to Anyinasuso to strengthen its evangelization.
