Chief commends Afram Plains MP

Afram Plains, Sept.18, GNA - The MP for Afram Plains South, Mr Kwakye Addo, was at the weekend commended for his leadership role in the development of Tease, in the Afram Plains District.

He was also praised for promoting peace among members of the various political parties, which is necessary for development.

Nana Kwakye Ansong III, Teasehene, speaking when he sat in state last Friday to mark his first anniversary on the stool, expressed his appreciation for the role Mr. Kwakye Addo in a fund-raising harvest in support of a community centre.

The Chief said his doors are opened to suggestions and criticisms and called for the co-operation of the people to ensure the development of the community and its environs.

There was prolonged applause when Mr Kwakye who is an NDC MP took to the floor with NPP members to tune of brass-band music. Mr Anthony Adongo, Assemblyman for Tease Ahenbronoso who is also the Presiding Member of the District Assembly, advised the people to support the Assembly's programmes.

Meanwhile, Mr Kwakye Addo has inspected work on a Nurses Quarters for the Tease Clinic, which he supported with 10 million cedis from his share of the Common Fund.

He also donated a solar lamp to the clinic for emergencies at the Maternity Ward and commended the staff for their hard work. Mr Alfred Vigbedor, Senior Medical Assistant expressed the gratitude of the staff to Mr. Kwakye Addo, who was one of the moving spirits for the establishment of the clinic when he was the Assemblyman for Tease Kuronkuron.

He appealed to benevolent organisations and philanthropists to assist the clinic.

Mr Addo has also inspected a KVIP project, which he assisted to build with 2.5 million cedis and 120 bags of cement in addition to over two million cedis from his share of the Common Fund for the painting of the facility. 18 Sept. 03
