PRAYERS OF ATONEMENT FOR THE PEACEFUL REPOSE OF THE SOULS OF THE AFRICAN VICTIMS OF SLAVERY

The African Renaissance Foundation [AREFO] is organizing prayers sessions of atonement for the peaceful repose of the souls of the African victims of trans-Atlantic, trans-Saharan and other forms of slavery and slave trade.

While the Sultan of Sokoto has been invited to lead the Muslim prayers, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria [CAN] has also been invited to lead the Christian prayers , while the Leader of the aborigine Ogboni fraternity is expected to lead the traditional religious prayers.

The event scheduled for Friday the 17th of August 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Heritage Museum, Badagry, Nigeria is the first in a series of activities lined up for this year's version of the Badagry Festival which is expected to attract persons from all over Nigeria, Africa and the world.

The African Renaissance Foundation[AREFO] also calls on Africans of all religious persuasions, especially traditional religionists, Christians and Muslims to begin serious sessions of prayers of atonements and expressions of remorse on behalf of our forefathers for the atrocities they committed against their own kit an kin, in partnership with western, Arab and other nations of the world that perpetrated the monstrous and satanic trade in human beings known as slave trade.
